Top Theatre in the Winelands

Helen O'Grady has cemented it's place in the heart of the Winelands with classes in Paarl, Somerset West, Wellington and Stellenbosch.
The Stellenbosch classes happen at the Klein Libertas Theatre where students are treated to a real theatre environment. With their teacher, Lize Goosen, students are exposed to lessons in speech, movement, improv and working with a script. The curriculum is standard around the world and practised at every Helen O' Grady Academy class.

Last week the class enjoyed an improv which sees last minute shoppers interact with supermarket workers keen to get their work done for the day. The result could be disastrous and full of humour.

Mime, ad lib, character depth and many other skills were taught
while teaching
Late Night Shopping.

Classes take place at the Klein Libertas Theatre every Monday
Primary Composite class: 16:00 – 17:00
Youth Theatre class: 17:00-18:00

If YOU are in this age group, live in the Stellenbosch area and would like to get involved, tell your parents about us, give us a call and we'll tell you more.

Stellenbosch Drama Classes

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy has been running its drama classes in Stellenbosch for many years now. The Academy uses the fantastic Klein Libertas Theatre on Monday afternoons and also offer classes at Paul Roos Gymnasium.

The classes are are very vibrant and lots of fun. The teachers in the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy are all fully trained by the Academy and normally are graduates in Performance Arts. The Academy prides itself in the quality of teachers who are developed to bring out the best in all the children using the famous international curriculum.

It is important in this modern world to be articulate and be able to communicate effectively. This is what the Academy does best in over 25 countries world wide but also develops performance arts skills. Children can attend the classes in three age-groups: 5-8 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years and are trained in the skills according to their particular needs. The confidence of the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy children is one of the things that stands out if you visit these classes.

The classes are affordable and lots of fun and the teachers all give lots of positive energy to the children. For further details and a free trail lesson, please contact us or visit our website at www.helenogrady.co.za.

Stellenbosch had a fantastic Parents Day!

Together with their fantastic teacher, Jennifer, the children performed their annual parents day for family and friends in Stellenbosch. Here the children showed their excellent communication skills developed by the Academy. From speech to mime to improvisation, the children have really grown throughout the year.
